This past December, a group from Zion was determined to make a difference in their community and used Love INC of Lake County to help. Sherri D. rallied a crew to give jeans, and a new outlook, to our Zion kids.
“There aren’t that many programs who actually give to families without charging a small fee,” Sherri said. “So I thought, let me try to give a pair of jeans to a child who may need them. If children don’t have to worry about their wardrobe, then they can focus more on their studies and go to school with a more positive attitude. When you look your best, you often feel your best – a New You, New Attitude.”
The collection was, of course, in God’s timing. The jeans arrived at Love INC right before the Sharing God’s Warmth clothing distribution in December. Over those four days, 113 families (consisting of over 350 individuals) were given warm clothing for the winter, including the jeans collected by Sherri’s friends and family.
But kids keep growing! The need for clothing is still never ending in Lake County. We currently have over 100 open requests waiting to be served at our April event. Please consider bringing your gently used children’s clothing to us to share with those in need in our community. Call the office to make an appointment to donate today!
